Swing Set Samples
My repertoire covers many of the most interesting and celebrated writers associated with the great American songbook, and many from outside of that remit including: Gershwin, Ellington, Porter, Kern, Berlin, Lerner and Loewe, Rodgers (with Hart and Hammerstien!) Newley and Bricusse, Arlen, Styne, Warren, Loesser, Mercer, Cahn, Van Heusen, Carmicheal, Mancini, Mandel, Connick Jr, Waller, Bloom, Bart, Trenet, Jobim, Schwartz, Lane, Mchugh, Noble and so many more…
Below is a sample of just some of the hundreds of songs I perform every week. New material is always welcome, as are unusual requests from non-traditional jazz artist – for example I perform a swing version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Dance Me To The End Of Love’ and modern hits such as ‘Valerie’ get my swing treatment now and then. As Cole Porter famously wrote… anything goes!
